DEFINITION: to resign from, to officially back away

TRANSLATION: wycofać się

EXAMPLE: We had hired an outsourcing company but they contracted out at the last minute.

TRANSLATION: Zatrudnili?�my firmę zewnętrzną, ale wycofali się w ostatniej chwili.

to hold the purse strings

DEFINITION: to control spendings

TRANSLATION: ograniczyć wydatki

EXAMPLE: In light of recent circumstances, most businesses had no other option but to hold the purse strings.
